Why I Love What I Do: A Health Practitioner’s Confession

A Health Practitioner’s Confession to the World:  I Love What I Do!

confession, minneapolis acupunctureI have a confession to make in today’s blog post. Ready?  Here it goes– I love what I do.

How many people can say that they truly love their work? How many people are fulfilling their destiny when they go to work each day?

Now, this confession may not sound all that shocking, but here’s the thing: I used to be deeply concerned about my future and finding work that I loved. I always knew that I wanted to be a healer, but I struggled finding an option that fit both my belief systems as well as it being an option of providing true health. It took me YEARS to find this field – and a lot of patience. I used to remind myself that all of the passion I felt would not go to waste, and to trust that in due time, my career would find me, but it was difficult not to compromise and give in to fear and doubt.

It wasn’t until I discovered Chinese medicine that I finally was able to experience a deep sense of relief and peace about my future. I actually cried from joy and relief during my first class at acupuncture school. Why? Because I knew I was home, and it felt like such a relief. The reason I bring this up is because I see that many of my patients are not doing work that they love and I know this is a MAJOR reason why they are struggling with their health.

How about you? Do you feel uplifted, inspired, and fully engaged going to work every day? Or does your work leave you feeling depleted, anxious, bored, or empty in your life? It’s generally going to be one or the other, right?

What I want to suggest to you is this: If you’re not doing what you love, life is too short to tolerate this for any lengthy period of time. You deserve more than this. (so does our community! We need you!)) Even more so, until your work aligns with your deeper purpose and values, your health will NEVER be at the level you want it to be. You can eat all of the organic food, get all of the exercise, and do all of the stress reduction techniques you want– if you’re not passionate about your daily work, there will always be a hole in the foundation of your health.

A big reason why I love what I do is that I’m in a position to help people like you really take control of their health and life on all levels. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my patients make lifestyle changes that empower them and lead to more fulfillment and well-being. Their life builds them up instead of depleting them. This IS possible for you! Call me at 612-824-0037 if you’d like to discuss how I can help you in this regard.
